Why we built Bidlyy

Most platforms let fans support their favorite creators with a flat tip — a few dollars, same amount whether it's a passing thumbs-up or someone who'd genuinely pay hundreds for a real moment with you. That gap felt worth solving.

I've spent the last few years building things — proptech, gaming, a few ideas that didn't stick, and a few that taught me a lot along the way. Before this, I was on the implementation team at ButterflyMX, watching how a good product actually gets used day to day, not just how it's pitched.

I'd had a hunch about this specific gap for a while before I started building — the sense that a lot of real willingness to pay was going untapped simply because there was no good way for a fan to actually offer it. Rather than build in a vacuum, we went out and tested that hunch against reality, talking to real people about what they'd actually pay for. The answers were consistent enough to convince us: fans aren't short on willingness to pay for the right moment. They're short on a way to actually offer it.

So we built a place where fans bid instead of tip, and where the price reflects what someone's actually willing to pay — not a fixed rate someone guessed at.

We're early. We're building this one creator and one auction at a time. If you're a creator wondering whether your fans would actually pay for a real moment with you, the honest answer is: we don't know exactly how much, but we'd love to find out together.
